This work is part of the Réminiscences of the Chaco project, created by the NGO La Croix du Sud and the Wichí, Pilagá, Qom, and Nivaclé communities of northern Argentina. The project aims to restore to these populations a memory untainted by "civilization," using photographs taken in the 1930s by European anthropologists and missionaries. The team—comprising members of the communities in question, scientists, artists, and documentary filmmakers—will organize screenings and round-table discussions centered on these photographs over the course of a month in seven villages between Salta and Las Lomitas.

Substrat is an artistic and cultural exchange project established in Malaysia in 2018 by Étienne Bernardot (video, photography, and digital artist) and Ilia Gilbertas (choreographer and videographer). They are joined for this new phase by Văn TTX (writer, poet, and lyricist). The project comprises several components: 

– ephemeral performances (combining music, video projection, and dance) created collaboratively by Francophone and/or Indigenous artists and/or any community members wishing to participate, particularly the younger generations. Substrat features a real-time video creation process using both digital and analog tools, alongside a dance practice that incorporates video as a partner. The visual creation begins by pairing photographs taken by ethnologists and missionaries with contemporary photos taken by local residents.  

– a blog created before the start of the project, where articles, videos, and testimonials will be published.

– a multimedia installation (featuring poems, photographs, and films) conveying the human, artistic, and cultural exchanges that took place during the creation of the performances. The central theme of this installation is to shed light on the present-day reality of the Wichí, Qom, Pilagá, and Nivaclé peoples.
